The town of Barnstable is actually made up of eight different villages:  Barnstable village, Hyannis, Hyannis Port, Centerville, Osterville, Cotuit, West Barnstable and Marstons Mills.  Of these, Hyannis and Hyannis Port are the most well-known and popular.   Barnstable runs from Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod Bay, south to Craigville Beach  and Lewis Bay on Nantucket Sound.  Hyannis Harbor is a ferry depot for trips to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.  The Barnstable municipal airport is also located in Hyannis.
